Lok Sabha Election: Telangana CM Reddy Targets BRS As He Sounds Poll Bugle, Pitches For Rahul As PM
Alleging a covert nexus between the BRS and BJP, CM Reddy said if the BRS candidates are elected to the Lok Sabha, they would only play the second fiddle to the saffron party.
New Delhi: Sounding the Lok Sabha poll bugle in Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy pitched for Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the Opposition to ensure a government that would work for the economically backward sections, news agency PTI reported.
Addressing a rally at Indervelly in Hyderabad’s Adilabad district, CM Reddy further said AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will soon visit the southern state to launch the Congress’s poll guarantee of supplying LPG cylinder at Rs 500.
The chief minister further stated that 15,000 vacant posts of constable would be filled up in 15 days. The Congress’s poll promise of providing free electricity up to 200 units to the poor would also be launched soon, Reddy further said.
Alleging a covert nexus between the BRS and BJP, CM Reddy said if the BRS candidates are elected to the Lok Sabha, they would only play the second fiddle to the saffron party. He also asserted that there are only two major political blocs, BJP-led NDA and the Opposition I.N.D.I.A.
Taking a dig at the former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, CM Reddy said he will never be allowed to join the Opposition alliance and even if some leaders of his party wins a few Lok Sabha seats, KCR would only make them play “second fiddle” to BJP, PTI reported.
Taking further potshots at KCR, CM Reddy accused the BRS of “looting” the state and leaving a debt burden of Rs 7 lakh crore.
CM Reddy also launched a scathing attack on PM Modi for having “failed” to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of the poor, provide housing for all, generating two crore jobs every year and doubling the income of farmers.
Accusing the BJP of garnering votes in the name of religion, CM Reddy said Rahul Gandhi, who took out a foot march from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir should become the next Prime Minister.
