Vidisha Lok Sabha Election Result: Ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set for a sixth term as Member of Pariliament (MP) as he wins the Vidisha seat by 8 lakh votes.

Vidisha Lok Sabha Election Result: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, and a five-time Member of Parliament (MP) is all set for his sixth term in the Parliament as he has won the Vidisha constitiuency by a margin of 8,17,479. As per the latest update on the official record shared by the Election Election Commission of India (ECI) on their official website, Chouhan, a four-term CM, has garnered over 10 lakh votes, leading Indian National Congress' (INC) Pratapbhandu Sharma who is reeling under 11 lakh votes.

Notably, Chouhan was at the forefront of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)'s campaigning as the Chief Minister (CM) of the state during the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Elections in 2023. However, with BJP forming the government in the central Indian state, the 65-year-old was overlooked for another term as the CM, with the party deciding to make Mohan Yadav as the CM.

With Chauhan set to be back in the Parliament, it is expected that the senior leader will be given a key portfolio in the central cabinet, in case the National Demorcatic Alliance (NDA) forms the government again with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm.

BJP 'CLEAN SWEEPS' MADHYA PRADESH, LEADS IN 29/29 SEATS

Even as BJP are struggling to go past the 300-seat mark with the counting of votes underway on June 4 (Tuesday), Madhya Pradesh appears to the party's brightest spot as it maintains a lead in each of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state, confirming a victory in 2 of them already. From the Indore Lok Sabha Seat, BJP's Shankar Lalwani smashed a win by a record margin of 11,75,092 with the result status shown as 'declared' on the ECI portal.

In the absence of a Congress candidate in Indore, the constituency also registered a NOTA record with over 2 lakh people opting for the 'None Of The Above' option in the Lok Sabha Election 2024.
