Eshwarappa Upset With BJP After Son Kantesh Ignored For Haveri Lok Sabha Seat
According to BJP's second candidate list, Karnataka ex-Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was given a ticket from Haveri and BY Raghavendra, the son of B former CM Yediyurappa, was fielded in Shivamogga.
After Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released the second list of 72 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, controversy erupted in Karnataka unit of the party. Former Karnataka deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa said that BS Yediyurappa promised that he would give the ticket to KE Kantesh from Haveri but fielded someone else in the ticket. Earlier, Eshwarappa mentioned that he was considering the possibility that his son would be fielded in either Shivamogga or Haveri constituency.
According to the second list, former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was given a ticket from Haveri and BY Raghavendra, the son of B former CM Yediyurappa, was fielded in Shivamogga.
According to ANI, K S Eshwarappa said, "BS Yediyurappa had promised that he would give the ticket to KE Kantesh from Haveri. So I sent my son Kantesh there to campaign...But today my son KE Kantesh didn't get the ticket and BS Yediyurappa's son got the ticket again."
BY Raghavendra is the incumbent MP from Shivamogga constituency.

On Wednesday, Eshwarappa said that he was still confident that his son would give a ticket from Haveri seat. Further, he said that he would chair a meeting with his supporters and take a final call on the candidature of his son on March 15, according to a report on India Today.
The BJP leader is also considering fielding his son as an independent candidate for the Shivamogga constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
