Know all about Varanasi DM Surendra Singh, the election officer who accepted PM Modi's nomination papers

Surendra Singh who was born in 1978, completed his masters in Geology. In the All India Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC, Surendra bagged the 21st rank in the country and topped the exam among the candidates from Uttar Pradesh.

  Prime Minister Modi filed his Lok Sabha nomination papers from Varanasi parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh in front of District Magistrate and district election officer Surendra Singh. PM Modi was accompanied by several senior NDA leaders, including Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, AIADMK leaders, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal, Lok Jan Shakti’s Ram Vilas Paswan, many Union ministers and chief ministers ahead of his nomination filing. Surendra Singh who was born in 1978, completed his masters in Geology. In the All India Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC, Surendra bagged the 21st rank in the country and topped the exam among the candidates from Uttar Pradesh. In 2009-2010, he served as the District Collectorate in Badohi district of Uttar Pradesh. Surendra Singh had his first posting in 2005. He built a reputation of sorts by bringing in transparency in all the schemes executed under his supervision. He also ensured that all tasks were completed as per the deadlines set. Singh has been awarded by the government of India for his work in civil administration.
