Jharkhand CM Oath Ceremony Highlights: Hemant Soren is slated to take oath as the Jharkhand Chief Minister today. Hemant Soren will take oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand during a ceremony at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi. This will be the 49-year-old JMM leader's fourth tenure as the chief minister.
Several prominent political leaders and dignitaries, including prominent members of the INDIA bloc are likely to be in attendance. The oath of office and secrecy will be administered by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at 4 pm.
A JMM leader said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, and Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu are likely to attend the ceremony in Ranchi.
In the recently held Jharkhand Assembly polls, Soren retained the Barhait seat by defeating BJP's Gamliyel Hembrom by a margin of 39,791 votes.
Hemant Soren’s JMM-led alliance emerged victorious, bagging 56 seats in the 81-member assembly, while the BJP-led NDA won 24 seats.
"I’m grateful to the people of Jharkhand for their continued trust in our leadership," Soren said. "This victory reflects the aspirations of the people, and we will work towards fulfilling them. This is a victory of the people and their vision for a peaceful and progressive Jharkhand," Soren said in his victory speech. He also appealed to the masses to attend his oath ceremony as he shared a YouTube link where people could watch the event live.
Special security arrangements were made with special traffic arrangements ahead of the swearing-in ceremony. Posters about the ceremony were also put up across the city.
Congress general secretary and Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir stated that Soren is expected to take oath alone and that the Cabinet will be expanded after a vote of confidence in the Assembly.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Hemant Soren, who took oath as the Jharkhand Chief Minister for the fourth time.
