'I Am An Indian': Farooq Abdullah Reacts To Pakistan Minister's Article 370 Remark

National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah asserted his Indian citizenship when asked about Pakistan minister's statement on Article 370.

National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Thursday reacted to remark by Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaj Asif's remark who said that the Congress party, NC, and Pakistan were on same page on the issue of Article 370.

"What can I say on what Pakistan says,  I am not a Pakistani, I am an Indian citizen," said the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister.

"We are moving towards progress and not terrorism," he added.

The Pakistan Defence Minister whipped up a storm amid elections in Jammu and Kashmir saying the Congress party, National Conference, and Pakistan are all on the same page when it comes to restroring Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharing a video of the interview, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Malviya launched an attack on Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.

"Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, on Hamid Mir’s Capital Talk on Geo News says, 'Pakistan and National Conference-Congress alliance are on the same page in Jammu & Kashmir to restore Article 370 and 35A'," he said in a post on X.

Drawing from reports of Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's endorsements of Rahul Gandhi in the US, the BJP leader questioned: "How is it that, from Pannun to Pakistan, Rahul Gandhi and his Congress, are always seen on the side of those inimical to India’s interest?"

Another BJP leader Tarun Chugh slammed Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah saying Khawaj Asif's statement "clearly indicates" that the two opposition leaders "are aligned with Pakistan's interests and are acting on their directives."

"The fact that Asif stated 'Congress, National Conference and we are on the same page' reveals that all instructions and directives are coming from Pakistan to Rahul Gandhi and Abdullah," he added.
