Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024: Election results for Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency are finally out. On June 1, 2024, voting took place on this seat in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravi Kishan beat fellow actor the Samajwadi Party's Kajal Nishad by a margin of 1,03,526 votes. Ravi Kishan secured 5,85,834 votes, against Kajal Nishad's 4,82,308 votes.

This will be Ravi Kishan's second consecutive term as a parliamentarian.

The voter turnout in Gorakhpur was recorded as 54.93% in the 2024 elections.

Before the verdict, Ravi Kishan had said during a campaign: “This is historic, Ram Rajya will continue. The biggest leader of the world is going to be the Prime Minister for the third time. People of the country have made the country win and placed their trust in PM Modi.”

In the 2019 elections, Ravi Kishan had defeated SP's Rambhual Nishad by a whopping 3,02,000 votes. 

The singer-actor had contested the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 also, but he was with the Congress party then, and lost the elections. He left the Congress party in 2018 and joined the BJP. The saffron party fielded Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur in 2019, and he managed to win the seat with a huge margin. The seat was earlier represented by Yogi Adityanath, who had won the seat five times between 1998 and 2014.    

For the unversed, renowned actor Ravindra Kishan Shukla, a.k.a. Ravi Kishan provided the voice for Tobey Maguire's character in 'Spider-Man 3' (2007) in Bhojpuri, the first Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Bhojpuri. He was last seen in Kiran Rao's directorial 'Laapataa Ladies'.
