Manish Sisodia Announces Internship For Youths To Work With AAP Ahead Of Polls

Manish Sisodia, former Deputy CM of Delhi, launched the "Internship with Manish Sisodia" program to provide youths with experience in leadership, public engagement, and election campaigns.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia announced an internship programme named after him to provide youths with hands-on experience in leadership, public engagement, and election campaigns.

'Internship with Manish Sisodia' will offer college students and young professionals from the national capital to work closely with his team during the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, read a statement.

"If you are interested in leadership and want to understand how leaders think, work, and run election campaigns, this program is for you," Sisodia said, according to the statement.

The AAP leader said the internship will "provide insight into how public issues are addressed, teams are built, and meaningful dialogue with citizens is conducted." "I welcome the youth of Delhi to join my election class and work alongside me during this campaign," he added.

The internship will come into effect from the date of shortlisting until February 28, 2025, or till the conclusion of the Delhi Assembly polls, whichever is earlier, as per the statement.

To apply for the internship, the candidates must be at least 18, registered voters of Delhi, and enrolled in an educational programme, either as regular students or through correspondence.

On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal announced an Ambedkar scholarship for free foreign education for the city's Dalit students.

The former Delhi CM said the Dr Ambedkar Samman Scholarship was a response to the BJP's "insult" of Ambedkar.

Under the scheme, the Delhi government will bear the entire cost of a student's education, travel and accommodation, if they secure admission to an Indian or foreign university, Kejriwal said. The benefits of the scheme will also extend to children of government employees, he added, without explaining how and when the scholarships would be given.

The AAP chief gave the example of BR Ambedkar saying he secured a PhD from the US against all odds.
