CISF jawan among 4 killed as Naxals blow up bus in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada
The voting for first phase for 18 seats in South Chhattisgarh is going to take place on November 12 and the voting for second phase for remaining 72 seats in North Chhattisgarh is set to take place on November 20th.
New Delhi: Three civilians and one CISF personnel died in a blast triggered by Naxals on a bus near Bacheli in Dantewada. As per sources, the shocking incident took place when the CISF personnel were on their way for election duty. As per reports, three personnel have been injured due to the blast.
PM Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi reportedly have their election rallies scheduled for tomorrow and today's blast have raised serious questions on the security arrangements prior to their visit. Modi will be addressing a rally in Jagdalpur while Rahul Gandhi will be holding a rally in Rajnandgaon tomorrow.
The CISF jawans were on their way to procure ration items in Bacheli and while returning near Akashnagar, the IED blast took place, an official said.
The elections for Chhattisgath legislative assembly are set to take place in two phases. The voting for first phase for 18 seats in South Chhattisgarh is going to take place on November 12 and the voting for second phase for remaining 72 seats in North Chhattisgarh is set to take place on November 20th. There are total 90 constituencies in the state. The counting of votes for both the phases is set to take place on December 11.
The incident comes only 3 day after a CRPF jawan was injured Monday while defusing an IED in Bijapur district on November 5.
Earlier a 15-kg explosive was unearthed by a joint team of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA)- an elite unit of the CRPF--and local police from a dirt track near Lingagiri village under Basaguda police station limits in the above district.
The Maoists have asked people to boycott the polls. Dantewada is among the areas going to polls on November 12 in the first phase covering 18 constituencies.
