Congress candidate Chandy Oommen defeated CPI(M) candidate Jaick C Thomas by a record margin of 37719 votes in Kerala's Puthuppally assembly seat.

Bypolls Result 2023 Winners:  The results of the 2023 bypolls for seven assembly seats across six states have been declared. Counting of votes commenced at 8 AM on Friday, revealing significant outcomes. The Ghosi bypoll was necessitated by the resignation of sitting legislator Dara Singh Chauhan, who had returned to the BJP from the Samajwadi Party (SP) in July.
