BJP Eyes Lok Sabha, Assembly Alliance With TDP In Andhra Pradesh, Leaders Likely To Decide On Feb 20

According to sources, the BJP is seeking 4 to 5 Lok Sabha seats and 20 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh

Amidst talks of a potential alliance between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh, party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, are set to headline a series of grand rallies in the state. According to sources, there may be a meeting between the leaders of both parties--BJP and TDP--on February 20, after which the alliance between them will be finalized.

The strategic move is aimed at bolstering BJP's presence and influence ahead of the upcoming elections. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh is set to witness state Assembly elections simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections scheduled in April this year.

The BJP is seeking to contest elections in 4 to 5 Lok Sabha seats and 20 Assembly seats, while Janasena is likely to contest for 2 to 3 Lok Sabha seats and 22 Assembly seats. The remaining seats will be contested by the TDP.

The BJP's top brass, comprising PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath, will engage in a whirlwind tour of Andhra Pradesh, addressing multiple public meetings to galvanize support.

To ensure effective outreach, BJP has organized five clusters, each comprising five Lok Sabha constituencies and appointed dedicated incharge and co-incharge teams to strengthen grassroots-level party structures. Additionally, state leaders are currently in Delhi for a national council meeting, where they will convey their perspectives on the prospective alliance to the central leadership.

Clarity on the BJP-TDP alliance is expected to emerge following deliberations by the party's parliamentary board.

Meanwhile, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was named as the primary accused in AP Fibernet Scam case in the chargesheet filed by Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Andhra Pradesh in the Vijayawada ACB Court.
