In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly Elections, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has offered support to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), echoing the INDIA alliance partner's views that the opposition bloc was only for the Lok Sabha elections.

Pawar's remarks comes amid speculations of rift in the INDIA alliance after AAP and Congress decided to go solo in Delhi elections and several bloc leaders calling for disbanding the alliance. In Maharashtra too, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena has announced going solo in the Maharashtra local body polls.
On the local body polls in Maharashtra, the NCP (SP) chief said, "There has never been any talk regarding state and local elections in the INDIA alliance. Everyone will meet and decide on this (local body elections) in the next 10 days."
Last week, Arvind Kejriwal announced that the Trinamool Congress will support AAP in the Delhi Assembly elections. In December, Samajwadi Party chief and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav announced his support for the AAP in the Delhi polls.
Delhi goes to polls on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The AAP, which won 62 of the 70 seats in Delhi in the 2020 elections, is eyeing a third consecutive full term.
