2019 Lok Sabha polls: Congress-National Conference seal alliance in Jammu and Kashmir
While announcing that Congress has finalised the alliance with National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad added that friendly contest means that there will be no cut-throat contest between the parties on Anantnag and Baramulla seats.

New Delhi: The Indian National Congress and National Conference have forged an alliance in Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that the Jammu and Udhampur parliamentary seats will be contested by Congress.
“I will contest from Srinagar and there will be a friendly contest between NC and Congress in Anantnag and Baramulla."The National Conference patron added that they are also discussing the Ladakh seat and shall soon draw an agreement on the same.
While announcing that Congress has finalised the alliance with National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad added that friendly contest means that there will be no cut-throat contest between the parties on Anantnag and Baramulla seats. "If either Congress or NC wins, it's a win-win situation for both of us," added Azad.
"The party has decided to field Justice (retd) Hasnain Masoodi from the Anantnag-Pulwama parliamentary constituency," NC general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar told reporters at party's head office at Nawai-Subha.
Anantnag Lok Sabha seat has been a bone of contention between the NC and Congress. NC parliamentary board had on Monday decided to field party president Farooq Abdullah from the Srinagar-Budgam constituency and senior leader and former Speaker of the state assembly Muhammad Akbar Lone from the Baramulla-Kupwara Lok Sabha constituency. The NC has not yet announced the candidates Jammu region and one in the Ladakh region of the state.
