Background
Purnia: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Santosh Kumar from Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) won the elections by a margin of 116669 votes. The polling / voting in Purnia constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Janata Dal (United)#s Santosh Kumar Kushwaha and Congress Party#s Uday singh @ pappu singh
Purnia 2014 Lok Sabha PollsIn the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 22 out of the 40 parliamentary seat with 29.4 percent vote share while the Lok Janshakti Party managed to win just 6 seats with a 6.4 percent vote share.
