Berhampore: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from Indian National Congress (INC) won the elections by a margin of 356567 votes. The polling / voting in Berhampore constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Krishna Juardar Arya and All India Trinamool Congress#s Apurba Sarkar

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

અથડામણમાં ત્રણ આતંકીઓને ઠાર કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. જ્યારે એક જવાન શહીદ થયો છે અને બે ઘાયલ થયા છે. ઘાયલોને આર્મી બેસ હોસ્પિટલમાં દાખલ કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. જ્યાં તેમની સારવાર ચાલી રહી છે.

પોલીસ અધિકારીના જણાવ્યા મુજબ, સેના અને એસઓજીની સંયુક્ત ટીમને અહીંયા કેટલાક આતંકીઓ છુપાયા હોવાની ખબર મળી હતી. જે બાદ ગુરુવારે સવારે દલીપોરા વિસ્તારમાં ઘેરબંધી કરવામાં આવી હતી. સુરક્ષા કર્મીઓ દ્વારા સર્ચ આપરેશન શરૂ કરવામાં આવતાં જ આતંકીઓએ ફાયરિંગ શરૂ કરૂ દીધું હતું.
