RRC Group D Recruitment 2019: Know the Selection Process
The selection process for RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2019 for RRC 01/2019 will comprise of a single Computer Based Test (multistage if need be), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination, which will be conducted in successive stages.
New Delhi: RRB Group D Recruitment 2019 online application process against CEN RRC 01/2019 has begun this evening on the official websites of the participating Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). The Indian Railways aims to fill a whopping 1,03,769 posts through RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2019, as compared to 62,907 vacancies advertised in RRB Group D Recruitment 2018 against CEN 02/2018. The selection process for RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2019 for RRC 01/2019 will comprise of a single Computer Based Test (multistage if need be), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination, which will be conducted in successive stages.
The Computer Based Test is tentatively scheduled to be held in the months of September - October 2019, this year. Thereby candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria as per the official notification for RRC 01/2019 have ample time to prepare for the CBT as well as PET. Candidates have roughly six months to train themselves academically as well as physically in order to secure a fixed government job with one of the worlds’ largest railway network – the Indian Railways:
Stage-1 of RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2019 - Computer Based Test (CBT)
The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be divided into four sections comprising 100 questions carrying 1 mark each viz:
General Science – 25 Questions – 25 Marks
Questions will be set from Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).
Mathematics – 25 Questions – 25 Marks
The Mathematics section will test the examinee’s prowess in Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
Candidates will be judged on their knowledge of Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
General Awareness and Current Affairs – 20 Questions – 20 Marks
The applicant’s awareness of current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance will be gauged in this section of the CBT.
Negative marking of (-1/3) applies for each wrong answer.
Candidates will be given 90 minutes to attempt the Computer Based Test (CBT) for RRC 01/2019 RRB Group D Recruitment 2019 Level 1 Posts. However, PwBD candidates who’ll opt for a Scribe will get 120 minutes to attempt the Computer Based Test.
The CBT will be held in English as the default language; applicants can also choose to appear for the CBT in other languages viz Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. However, in case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the Questions between English and the opted language, the content of English version shall prevail.

Stage-2 of RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2019 - Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates will be selected three times more than the number of vacancies offered by various Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for the second stage of the recruitment process i.e. Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Male candidates will be required to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one go without putting the weight down; and they must be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one go.
On the other hand, Female candidates will be required to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one go without putting the weight down; and they must be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one go.
It is notable here that candidates falling under the category PwBD are exempted from appearing for the PET and they’ll appear directly for Medical Examination after qualifying the CBT.
Candidates interested in applying for RRC 01/2019 RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2019 must train themselves physically each day to reach the expected level in the Physical Efficiency Test. Good diet along with regular practice will be crucial to excel in the PET, whereas, thorough knowledge and practice of Mock Tests of RRB Group D Recruitment 2018 can help candidates to prepare well for the Computer Based Test.
