The awarding of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or eligibility for Assistant Professorship is based on the aggregate performance of candidates in Paper-I and Paper-II of the UGC-NET. Candidates who qualify solely for Assistant Professorship are not eligible for the JRF award. Those who pass the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship must adhere to the rules and regulations of the respective universities, colleges, or state governments for recruitment.
