NSA Ajit Doval Conferred Honorary Doctorate By GB Pant University Of Agriculture And Technology

Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd) awarded the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Literature (D.Litt) at the 34th convocation of the GB Pant University.

The Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, conferred NSA Ajit Doval with Honorary Doctorate Degree on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd) awarded NSA Ajit Doval with the Honorary Doctorate of Literature (D.Litt) at the 34th convocation of the GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. 

The GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, is one of India’s premier agriculture universities located in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. In an official notice published on its website, the university stated that students from 15 different degree programs who have completed their degree requirements will be conferred degrees at the varsity’s 34th convocation. These degrees include: Doctor of Philosophy, B.Sc. Ag. (Hons), Master of Science in Agriculture, B.V. Sc. & A.H, Master of Science, B. Tech, Master of Veterinary Science, B. Sc. Community Science, Master of Technology, B.F.Sc, Master of Fisheries Science, B.Sc. (Food Technology), MBA (Agri. Business), MBA, Master of Computer Application.

Also hailed as the Indian ‘James Bond,’ Ajit Doval is the 5th and the present National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. He was appointed as the fifth National Security Advisor of India on May 30, 2014. A retired IPS officer, Ajit Doval has played an instrumental role in several operations. He also served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau. 

Before GB Pant University of Agriculture and technology though, NSA Ajit Doval has been awarded Honorary Doctorate degrees by some other universities in Uttarakhand as well. Earlier in December 2019, Ajit Doval was also conferred with the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Literature by the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU). He was awarded the honorary degree at the seventh convocation of the HNBGU. Back in 2018, he was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Literature (D.Litt) at the 14th convocation of the Kumaun University.
