NEET UG 2019: SC relaxes age limit, application deadline extended; Check all updates here

NEET UG 2019: The Supreme Court of India (SC) on Thursday allowed the undergraduate medical aspiring students of 25-year or below to apply for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

NEET UG 2019: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is going to be conducted next year in 2019 for which the application process is underway. In a historic move, the Supreme Court of India (SC) on Thursday allowed the undergraduate medical aspiring students of 25-year or below to apply for NEET. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NEET exams in the month of May next year. However, the apex court has also ruled out that the admission of these students will be subject to the final outcome of the case on the validity of CBSE’s decision to fix the upper age limit. NEET UG 2019: Extended deadline  The official NEET UG 2019 notification was released on November 1. The court has also directed NTA to extend the deadline of filling up the NEET form by one week, as tomorrow was decided to be the last day to fill up the forms. The extended deadline is December 7 now. NEET UG 2019: Revised age limit As per the previous notification issued by NTA, any student above the age of 25-years will not be eligible to appear for NEET UG exams scheduled on May 5, 2019. But, with apex court’s decision, students can now apply for the examination with a condition that their eligibility will be subject to the final ruling in the case. Interested candidates can apply for NEET at NTA’s official website — ntaneet.nic.in. Candidates who have passed class 12 from open school are eligible to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2019). NTA started the application process for NEET UG 2019 exam on November 1, 2018. As per reports, the NTA will conduct many other entrance examinations apart from NEET from 2019 onwards. NTA was formed to conduct various entrance and competitive exams and relieve other bodies including CBSE of this duty. Here are the steps to apply for NEET 2019: Step i. Log on to the official website of NTA – ntaneet.nic.in Step ii. On the homepage, click the link which reads ‘NEET (UG) 2019 Step iii. After clicking, you will be directed to a new page with application form Step iv. Fill the application form in the green tab Step v. Then click on ‘Proceed to apply for NEET (UG) 2019 Step vi. Fill all the information correctly and hit the submit button The NTA will charge an application fee of Rs 1,400 for unreserved candidates and Rs 750 for SC, ST, PwD and transgender students.
