Gujarat Schools Reopen Today After Summer Break; Govt Sees Significant Shift From Private To Public Schools

Gujarat Schools Reopen: This year, summer vacations in Gujarat were extended till June 12, 2024, due to extreme heat waves experienced in the northern states of India.

Gujarat Schools Reopens: Gujarat's Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, Adult, and Higher Education, Praful Pansheriya, announced that all government and private schools in the state are reopening today. After a 35-day summer break, primary and higher secondary students will start the new academic year 2024-25. This year, summer vacations in Gujarat were extended till June 12, 2024, due to extreme heat waves experienced in the northern states of India. Schools in Gujarat were closed from May 9 to June 12, 2024.

According to reports, more than 1.15 crore students will return to over 54,000 schools today after the summer vacation. To mark this occasion, the Gujarat government will hold Shala Pravesh Utsav in all schools on June 27, 28, and 29, 2024.

"Today, primary and higher secondary, both private and government schools are going to be reopened in Gujarat. My greetings to all the students,Praful Pansheriya said.

He also mentioned that the notable development this year is that approximately two lakh students have transferred from private to government schools. Minister Pansheriya said that this significant shift is due to several factors, including the introduction of smart classrooms, enhanced infrastructure, and the dedicated efforts of teachers in government schools.

The Gujarat government has been focusing on improving the quality of education in public schools through various initiatives. Smart classes provide students with modern learning tools and resources, making education more engaging and effective.
