Notaby, since taking power in 2014, the present NDA government has significantly pushed on revamping the education system of the country. In 2022, the government announced that it will set up 157 new medical colleges across the country, including increasing the number of AIIMA in the country from 6 to 22.

As per data revealed by the Health Ministry, the government has invested over 17,691 crores on the establishment of new medical colleges in the country. The new medical colleges are also expected to add up around 16,000 fresh undergraduate medical seats in the country.
