Children's Day 2021 Preparation: Schools across the country organize various types of cultural events like drama, fancy dress competitions, picnics, elocution competitions on Children's Day.

Children's Day 2021 Speech: Children's Day is celebrated every year on 14th November to mark the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Pandit Nehru was born on this day in 1889, later known as Chacha Nehru. He had a special attachment to children and hence November 14 was declared as Children's Day after his death in 1964.

On this day schools across the country organize plays, fancy dress competitions, picnics, elocution competitions and other cultural events for children. If you or your children are going to address an event on this occasion, the five suggestions presented below are going to be of great use to make your speech better.

Introduction: After greeting the students, teachers and guests, start with why Children's Day is celebrated specifically on November 14 and who is Pandit Nehru. Talk about Nehru's special attachment to children in his speech. Talk about his contributions, also mention his ideas on children's development in the speech.

Talk about children's rights: Emphasize such points in the speech that will impress the children, highlight children's rights and welfare. From education to physical and mental health, talk about issues and solutions that ensure a better future for children.

Use short and simple sentences/language: Make sure not to use long sentences and difficult words when preparing a speech. Keep sentences short, use simple words and language so that everyone can understand it. Feel connected to them. Don't keep the speech too long.

Mention examples and anecdotes: You can quote some of the things mentioned by other prominent personalities like Nehru, Nelson Mandela, APJ Abdul Kalam about the future of children. Quoting such famous people can make your speech quite impactful. Mentioning anecdotes is the best way to grab the attention of those listening to the speech.

Rehearse before you give a speech: Rehearse well after writing the speech. This can prevent being hesitant on stage. It also increases your ability to give a speech, body language and confidence.
