As per Physics experts, the CBSE Class 12th Physics Exam 2019 was difficult as compared to last year and carried tricky & application-based questions that needed to be solved patiently and with thorough understanding.
HOTS aka High Order Thinking Skills, as they call it, looks like has become the way forward for the CBSE Board Examinations too as is the case with other competitive exams.
Question number 13 and 14 in Section C carrying 3 marks each from Set 1 of today’s CBSE Class 12th Physics Paper 2019 may have appeared difficult to average students, however, the ones who had practiced HOTS could have been able to solve it successfully. Question number 25, 26 & 27 in Section D carrying 5 marks each too were indirect and mostly numerical based.
Many students were caught by surprise when they discovered that Section D comprised of internal choices in questions from the same chapters, as against different topics in previous year CBSE Class 12th Physics Examinations.
Overall the paper appeared lengthy to students due to its indirect questioning approach.
The CBSE Class 12th Physics 2019 examination comprised of 27 questions carrying 70 marks in total. The paper is divided into four sections viz:
Section A – 5 Very Short Answer Questions carrying 1 mark each – Total 5 Marks
Section B – 7 Short Answer-I Questions carrying 2 marks each – Total 14 Marks
Section C – 12 Short Answer-II Questions carrying 3 marks each – Total 36 Marks
Section D – 3 Long Answer Questions carrying 5 marks each – Total 15 Marks
