CBSE Board Exams 2019: The practical exams have already begun and will conclude by mid of next month. Board exams are the most crucial milestones in the academic journey of your child.
CBSE Board Exams 2019 for classes 10th and 12th will be commencing in two weeks from now. The practical exams have already begun and will conclude by mid of next month. Board exams are the most crucial milestones in the academic journey of your child. While preparing well for the examinations by learning and revising concepts, putting diligent study hours and staying away from social media and smartphones is your child’s primary responsibility to ensure academic success; creating a home environment that is conducive to his exam preparation comes under your kitty.
As a parent, here are five ways you can ensure your child stays healthy, at peace and uninterruptedly concentrates on his last leg of exam prep to give his best shot.
1. Health
Your child’s health should be on top of your priority list. With the bone chilling weather prevalent across the country, make sure that your boy or girl stays warm in a cosy room and wears appropriate clothes to brave the chill when outside. Catching cold or cough at this time can make your child fall ill near the exam days. Ask your child to go out and study in the sun to breathe in fresh air and energize his/her body and mind.
2. Food
A bowl of homemade vegetable soup or broth in the evening will boost your child’s immunity and keep him warm from inside. Remember, hunger pangs are the most common reason for distraction amongst students. Prepare healthy protein-rich food at home and limit junk food as it is not only unhealthy but also a source of anxiety and distraction.
3. Relationships
While nurturing cordial relationships amongst family members is crucial throughout your child’s growing years; however, if that’s not the case, then at least refrain yourself from discussing anything in front of your child who is soon to appear for Board Exams, and avoid any confrontation with your spouse or any other member of the family until the exams are over.
4. Noise Reduction
It is difficult to learn and memorize topics for your child when s/he is subjected to continuous background noise or loud volumes. Make sure that the television is not too loud. If your child’s room or place of study is on the outer portion of your home, you may choose to make temporary arrangements to ensure noise reduction. Apart from noise reduction, limit your child’s distractions, by muting notifications on everyone’s Smartphones or putting them on silent mode.
5. Motivate
Last but the most important, motivate your child and spare 5 to 10 minutes each day understanding if there’s any underlying stress or concern that can be solved with your intervention. Make dining table conversations light and cheerful to give your child a much needed jovial break.
