R-Day Parade To Affect Traffic Near India Gate, Check Routes To Avoid
The traffic will be affected on several routes near India Gate due to Republic Day parade rehearsal.
Traffic near India Gate is going to remain affected on Thursday as well due to the parade rehearsals for Republic Day, said the police. The Delhi Traffic police on issued an advisory for people to avoid the Vijay Chowk and crossings in the vicinity of the landmark.
The traffic police advised the commuters to avoid Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, Janpath- Kartavyapath crossing, & Man Singh Road- Kartavyapath crossing.
In a post on X, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic alert stating, "Due to Republic Day Parade Rehearsal kindly avoid Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, Janpath- Kartavyapath crossing, & Man Singh Road- Kartavyapath crossing from 0700 Hrs to 1130 Hrs on 11-01-2024."

The traffic near India Gate was affected on Wednesday as well due to the rehearsals.
The traffic police took to X to inform people about it and asked them to avoid the Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavya Path crossing, Janpath-Kartavya Path crossing and Man Singh Road-Kartavya Path crossing.
For the first time this year, two all-women contingents of the defence forces will take part in the Republic Day parade. One contingent will comprise women soldiers from Army, Air Force, and Navy while the second one will consist of military nurses.
An all-women contingent of the Delhi Police will also march down the Kartavya Path for the first time this year during the Republic Day parade.
According to a PTI report, the all-women contingent will have around 80 per cent of participants from northeastern states.
According to the city police, it follows a policy of recruiting people from the eight states in the northeast to "bridge the gap" between the force and the people from that region.
