Delhi Metro Allows Carrying Two Sealed Bottles Of Alcohol Per Person On Trains
Other than the Airport Express Line, carrying of alcohol was banned in the Delhi Metro till recently.
The Delhi Metro, considered as the lifeline of the city, has now allowed passengers to carry two sealed bottles of alcohol with them, according to a revised norms, officials said on Friday. However, drinking of alcohol inside metro premises is still strictly prohibited, the official added. Other than the Airport Express Line, carrying of alcohol was banned in the Delhi Metro till recently.
"A committee comprising officials from the CISF and DMRC have reviewed the list and as per the revised list, two sealed bottles of alcohol per person is allowed to be carried on the Delhi Metro at par with the provisions on the Airport Express Line," said the official to PTI.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also made it clear that the passengers would be required to maintain proper decorum while travelling on metro trains.

It threatened action under relevant provisions of law against passengers found behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of alcohol.
Prohibited items in Delhi Metro, include sharp objects, flammable items, explosive materials, disabling chemicals, Guns, firearms and other offensive items.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled on the metro to attend the valedictory ceremony of Delhi University's centenary celebrations. He boarded the train at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station and deboarded at Vishwavidyalaya metro station on the Yellow Line.
Officials shared pictures of Modi travelling in a metro train, sitting with commuters and interacting with them.
He attended the closing ceremony of the Delhi University's centenary celebrations as the chief guest. And after the ceremony got over, the Prime Minister travelled back in the metro, reported the news agency.
