Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory For Commuters In View Of R-Day Parade Rehearsals

The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory for commuters in view of the Republic Day Parade rehearsals. Read to know which routes you should avoid.

The traffic in the national capital was affected near India Gate on Wednesday as the rehearsal for the Republic Day Parade 2024 was being conducted. In order for commuters to avoid such discomfort, the Delhi Traffic Police on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory in which it asked them to avoid areas like Vijay Chowk and Kartavya Path crossings for Wednesday. Meanwhile, the traffic was also affected on the Ring Road in the carriageway from Moti Bagh towards Safdarjung following the breakdown of a hydraulic crane on the Rajnagar flyover, as reported by news agency PTI.

Delhi Traffic Police took to X (Formerly known as Twitter) to say, "Due to Republic Day Parade rehearsal kindly avoid Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, Janpath-Kartavyapath crossing, and Man Singh Road- Kartavyapath crossing from 0700 Hrs to 1130 Hrs on 10-01-2024."

Republic Day Parade Rehearsals

Security forces were seen rehearsing for the R-Day Parade at Kartavya Path on Wednesday morning. The chilly morning could not shake the spirit of the security personnel as they marched forward. Meanwhile, the temperature this morning was recorded at 7.1 degrees Celsius. 

Ranging from band troopers to horse-mounted security personnel, all were seen at their finest on Wednesday.

They were seen marching at 7 am in their uniforms amid the teeth-teetering cold while the skyline remained dark.
