Delhi: 3 Sharpshooters Arrested After Encounter With Police In Wazirabad, Cop Suffers Injuries

New Delhi: Delhi police on Thursday arrested three members of an inter-state gang after a brief exchange of fire in Delhi's Wazirabad area. Police said The three men are sharpshooters of the Tillu Tajpuria - Parvesh Mann - Neeraj Bawana gang. He told that the three were planning to launch a major attack on their rivals and their family members. Two semi-automatic pistols, two country-made pistols and 19 cartridges have been recovered from them. 

Police said that the accused have been identified as Pawan Sehrawat (30), a resident of Bawana, Ashu (21) of Bahadurgarh in Haryana and Gaurav Tyagi (27), a resident of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh. Officials said that the sub-inspector of Delhi Police was shot in the encounter.

A Delhi Police sub-inspector got wounds during the encounter, officials said.

On May 7, a man named Braham Prakash (55), the father of Kapil alias Kallu Khera who is a member of the Gogi gang, was killed by the members of Neeraj Bawana - Tillu Tajpuria - Parvesh Mann group, police said.

On Wednesday, the police got hold of the area of Shehrawat and his two partners at Outer Ring Road close to the Wazirabad flyover, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Rajiv Ranjan said.

The police requested that the three acquiescence but Shehrawat and Ashu whipped out guns and discharged at the power. Sub-inspector Vikram was harmed in the cross-firing. In the cross shooting, Shehrawat and Ashu also sustained bullet wounds on their legs and the charged were captured, the DCP said.

Shehrawat was past associated with nine cases, including that of an attempt to murder, and theft among others, while Ashu had eight criminal cases against him that included an attempt to murder, extortion and robbery, police added.
