Twist In Blood-Curdling Mumbai Murder, Victim Told Orphanage Accused Was Her Maternal Uncle

A new twist has emerged in the blood-curdling Mumbai murder case as new details revealed that the victim had told her orphanage that the accused was her maternal uncle.

As the police probe the hair-raising murder case in which a 56-year-old man allegedly killed his 32-year-old live-in partner and chopped and boiled her body later, new details now reveal that the victim, who was an orphan, had told the orphanage that the accused was her maternal uncle. The victim Saraswati Vaidya was allegedly killed by Manoj Sane, who she came in contact with in Mumbai after she left her Ahmednagar orphanage at the age of 18 years. Manoj also used to give her money, sources said. She apparently never told that Manoj was her live-in partner, but said she was her maternal uncle.

Even though the victim was said to be an orphan, three relatives have come to meet the police and claimed to be linked to her. She also had a sister who lived in Aurangabad.

In a latest development, the accused has now claimed that Saraswati Vaidya died by suicide on June 3 and he decided to dispose of her body as he was scared that he would be accused of killing her, the police said. Manoj is accused of murdering Saraswati and chopping her body into pieces before boiling them in a pressure cooker. The murder was discovered by the police after neighbours of the Geeta Akash Deep Building Flat J-704 complained of an unbearable stench.

According to news agency ANI, the accused told the police during his questioning that Saraswati Vaidya died by suicide on June 3. "He was scared that he would be accused of killing her, so he decided to dispose of her body. He told the Police that he chopped her body into pieces and boiled them in a pressure cooker to avoid the stench," Vasai-Virar Police stated.

The case came to light as the police found three buckets of blood and body parts along with some body parts in a pressure cooker. The accused purportedly confessed to the police that he cut up the body into pieces with the help of the tree cutter. The pieces were then boiled in a pressure cooker or ground in a mixer. Sane allegedly chopped the body into 20 pieces. Police could find only Vaidya’s feet and a few other body parts.
