Noida Man Jumps Off High-Rise Building, Dies. Friend Claims He Was 'Panicking' After Drink

The police informed that Naman and his friend were both drunk on February 3, the day he committed suicide.

New Delhi: A man committed suicide by jumping off from his floor in a high-rise building in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, police said. The police stated that the incident took place at around 9 pm on February 3, news agency ANI reported.

The deceased, identified as Naman, came with a female friend on February 2 to the society, located in Noida's Sector 168, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Noida, Ashutosh Dwivedi said on Saturday.

The police informed that Naman and his friend were both drunk on February 3, the day he committed suicide.

"On February 2, a person named Naman came to a high-rise society in Noida with a woman friend. On Feb 3 he committed suicide by jumping off his floor," ADCP Dwivedi said.

According to the police, Naman's friend had come downstairs to talk to the security guard when the incident took place.

"His woman friend revealed that they drank on Feb 3 &thereafter Naman started to panic which led to confusion between them. She had come downstairs to tell the (security) guard about it when the incident happened," the police said.

The ADCP said that further action is being taken after the complaint was lodged by the deceased's family.
