A man shot his girlfriend's mother after an argument over a dog in Delhi's Desh Bandhu Gupta Road on Saturday, reported ANI citing police. They said that the couple was in a live-in relationship and the man is absconding since after the incident. However, the victim woman is out of danger and under treatment, the police said.

A probe into the matter is underway, Delhi Police said, as per ANI.

As per a report in ABP Asmita, the couple was in a live-in relationship and the accused is absconding after the incident. The Delhi Police is currently investigating the matter. A Delhi Police official said that an FIR has been registered against the absconding accused in this case.

The Deshbandhu Gupta Road police said that on the night of April 8, the man had an argument with his girlfriend's mother over a dog. Later the conflict escalated to such an extent that the accused lost his temper, and in a fit of rage shot his girlfriend's mother. After this, he fled from the spot. After the incident, the victim was admitted to a nearby hospital. Deshbandhu Gupta Road Police Station has registered a case in this matter. Police say that the matter is under investigation.
