Haryana: Man Stabbed After Fight Over Roti Count At Gurugram Eatery

An argument over the number of rotis consumed at a roadside stall in Gurugram quickly escalated into a fight, leaving 24-year-old Rohit Kumar critically injured.

A violent altercation at a roadside food stall in Gurugram's Sector 90, Haryana, left 24-year-old Rohit Kumar fighting for his life. The dispute began over a disagreement about the number of rotis (flatbreads) consumed. While Rohit claimed he ordered fewer rotis, the eatery owner claimed otherwise. The argument escalated into a physical fight in no time. Kumar, a resident of Banskusla in IMT Manesar, suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen, reported Hindustan Times.

According to authorities, the eatery owner, 28-year-old Mohammad Waris, also sustained injuries during the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday. Kumar's friend was present at the scene and witnesses said that the situation quickly turned volatile, HT reported.

The police told HT that Kumar was receiving treatment at a nearby private hospital, where his condition was said to be critical. Waris faces charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He was administered medical treatment as the cops on Tuesday awaited a fitness certificate from the doctors before taking him into custody.

The incident has sparked a police investigation, with an FIR registered at Kherki Daula police station on Tuesday. Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar of the Gurugram Police said that Waris will be arrested once his medical treatment is complete.

Africans Arrested For Assaulting Officers

Three persons from Africa were arrested during a raid at a pub in Gurugram's Sector 67 for allegedly assaulting and injuring police officers. According to Hindustan Times, the arrested trio — Alima Mustapha of Nigeria, Micholab of South Africa, and Kamara Verflay of Congo —  had overstayed in India after the expiry of their visa.

The raid was conducted after the police received a tip-off about a rave party at the pub. The police were informed about the patrons of the pub using narcotics. When they went to the pub, they were attacked by the suspects. An ASI suffered a fracture on his hand. Two from the group, however, managed to flee.
