Delhi: Fed Up Over Excessive Barking Of Neighbour's Pet Dog, Minor Boy Kills Its Owner

The wife of the deceased said the boy barged into their house in Najafagarh and hit the man on his head with an iron road.

New Delhi: A 17-year-old boy allegedly killed his 85-year-old neighbour after he got miffed by the excessive barking of his pet. Police said the octogenarian was killed while he was trying to rescue the dog, PTI reported.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar. The wife of the deceased said the boy barged into their house in Najafagarh and hit the man on his head with an iron road.

However, police said the boy wanted to kill the dog. However, the boy ended up killed the octogenarian as the old man came to rescue the dog.

The incident took place last Friday. Around 5.30 pm, Kumar's son called up the local police station and informed them about the incident. 

Police arrived at the Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital and recorded the statement of Ashok Kumar's 65-year-old wife Meena.

Based on the complaint, the police apprehended the 17-year-old. However, he was later released by the juvenile justice board, PTI reported.

Kumar died in the hospital on Sunday. The statement of his wife was recorded again by the police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shankar Choudhary said a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

On Wednesday, the police filed an application before the juvenile justice board to re-apprehend the boy, PTI reported.
