Woman's Chain Snatched As She Leaves Ayyappa Temple In Delhi, 2 Arrested

Two men snatched a woman’s chain near RK Puram’s Ayyappa Temple. Delhi Police arrested them, recovering gold chains, locket, melted gold, and a fake-plate bike.

In a swift action by the Delhi Police, two individuals involved in a chain-snatching incident near the Ayyappa Temple in Sector 1, RK Puram, have been apprehended, with stolen items including gold chains, a locket, and melted gold recovered.

The incident occurred when a woman was leaving the temple premises and was targeted by two bike-borne assailants. The accused, identified as Sunil and Rashid, snatched the woman’s chain and attempted to flee the scene. However, prompt action by the police led to their arrest shortly after the crime.

Additional DCP, South West Delhi, Aishwarya Singh, provided details of the operation. She said, "A woman was leaving Ayyappa temple in Sector 1 RK Puram when two bike riders came and snatched her chain. After which the accused Sunil and Rashid were arrested...When they did the snatching for the first time, our team reached there...When one of the accused was caught, a gold chain was recovered from him. After which a trap was laid and then the second accused was also caught. Two broken gold chains have been recovered. Apart from this, a gold locket has been recovered, some melted gold has also been recovered and the bike on which they did this snatching has also been recovered, which had a fake number plate..."

The recovery includes two broken gold chains, a gold locket, some melted gold, and the motorcycle used in the crime, which was found to have a fake number plate.
