Rebellion Brewing In Telangana Congress? CM Reddy Calls Emergency Meeting After 12 MLAs Hold 'Secret' Meet
A senior Congress minister, while speaking to ABP News, admitted that tensions are rising within the party between veteran leaders and those who recently joined the party.

The Congress' Telangana unit seems to be currently going through an internal conflict as nearly a dozen MLAs held a secret meeting ahead of the upcoming local body elections in the state, setting off alarms within the party leadership.
The meeting reportedly took place at MLA Anirudh Reddy's farmhouse, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Gandipet.
The MLAs had gathered to discuss about Revenue Minister Pongleti Srinivas Reddy, and accused him of acting arbitrarily and neglecting senior Congress leaders. The MLAs have also felt that the leaders who joined Congress before the elections were prioritised over long-time MLAs, who according to them were being overlooked.
A legislator from Mahbubnagar district called the meeting, inviting 18 MLAs. However, only 12 turned up. According to sourced, the MLAs discussed issues like ministers demanding commissions, delays in bill approvals, and officials ignoring their recommendations.
However, Nagar Kurnool MP Mallu Ravi clarified that it was merely a dinner meeting and that opposition parties were unnecessarily blowing the issue out of proportion.
A senior Congress minister, while speaking to ABP News, admitted that tensions are rising within the party between veteran leaders and those who recently joined the party.
His remarks were directed at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister Srinivas Reddy, who joined Congress recently and holds key positions including Minister of Information and Public Relations of Telangana.
Shortly after the MLAs meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held discussions with Minister Srinivas Reddy and other senior leaders, emphasising how it was every party member's responsibility to maintain discipline within the party. He directed ministers to improve coordination with MLAs and consider their recommendations, and hinted at making significant decisions soon to resolve the issues.
According to a report by India Today, CM Revanth Reddy is set to meet the ministers at the Command Control Centre and has also instructed officials to not attend the 'secret' meeting, given the seriousness of the situation.
Sources said the disgruntled MLAs are planning to meet the All India Congress Committee AICC and Rahul Gandhi to bring it to the matter in party high command's notice.
Local body elections and MLC elections are due to be held in Telangana. Elections for one graduate and two Teachers MLC constituencies in the state will be held on February 27 and results will be announced on March 3.
