Dense Fog Alert Continues In Delhi, Rain Likely Too: Check All Weather Details Before Stepping Out
Delhi Weather forecast: Delhi is expected to experience light rain on Wednesday, with dense fog in several areas.

Delhi Weather Today: Dense fog blanketed Delhi on Tuesday (14 January), reducing visibility to zero again and affecting traffic and train movement. The weather on Wednesday is likely to worsen with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting rain.

Delhi Temperature
The temperature in Delhi was 7 degrees Celsius at 5.30 AM on Wednesday. A bulletin from the IMD warned: "Dense fog is likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions could prevail in isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and cold day conditions are likely in isolated places over Rajasthan. Ground Frost at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand."
A yellow alert for fog has been issued in Delhi for Wednesday and Friday. "Smog or dense to very dense fog in the morning. Generally cloudy sky with the possibility of one or two spells of very light rain during the evening and night," a warning by the IMD read on Tuesday night.

The rain could also hit peak-hour traffic in the Delhi-NCR as it did last week. So, expect delays on the way.
The surface wind is expected to blow from the south-east direction at a speed of less than 4 kilometres per hour in the morning. Dense fog is likely to prevail in most parts of Delhi. In addition, smog or light to moderate fog is likely in the evening and night.
Trains Delayed In DelhiDue To Fog
A total of 39 trains in Delhi were delayed by half an hour to four hours from 6 AM on Tuesday morning till night. The IMD has forecast light rain this week.
According to the IMD report, visibility was less than 50 metres in some parts of Delhi due to dense fog. Zero visibility was recorded at Palam at 4.30 PM. The south-easterly winds were blowing at a speed of 6 to 8 kilometres per hour. The minimum visibility was also recorded at 50 metres in Safdarjung.
Delhi's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 21.2 degrees Celsius, which was 1.3 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 8.9 degrees Celsius, which was 1.5 degrees above normal. The humidity level fluctuated between 80% and 100% throughout the day.

How Is The AQI in Delhi?
According to the Early Warning System for Delhi, the average air quality in Delhi remained in the 'poor' category on Wednesday. At 5:30 AM on Wednesday, the overall AQI of the national capital worsened to the 'very poor category', with the reading at 332.
Areas like Mandir Marg (366), Mundka (366), Narela (368), Nehru Nagar (381) DU North Campus (369), Okhl-Phase 2 (367), Rohini (388), Sirifort (350), Vivek Vihar (401), Wazirpur (394), Alipur (367), Anand Vihar (413), Ashok Vihar (383, and Dwarka-Sector 8 (370) among others recorded the worst AQI, with the readings going well over 350.
For information, an AQI of zero to 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 AQI 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor' and 401 and 500 AQI 'severe'.
