Begusarai: Giriraj Singh Alleges Attack By AAP Worker, Accused Arrested. Party Claims ‘Charges Fabricated’

Begusarai News: Union Minister Giriraj Singh was allegedly attacked by Aam Aadmi Party worker and ward councilor, Mohammad Saifi who reportedly approached the minister at a public event and made inflammatory remarks.

Begusarai News: Union Minister Giriraj Singh was allegedly attacked during a public meeting in Ballia, Bihar's Begusarai, on Saturday. The assailant, identified as Mohammad Saifi, an Aam Aadmi Party worker and ward councilor, was immediately apprehended by security personnel. Singh was unharmed in the incident.

On Saturday, Singh was engaging with constituents at a 'Janata Darbar' when Saifi reportedly approached him and began making inflammatory remarks. As BJP workers attempted to intervene, Saifi allegedly tried to punch Singh. Security forces quickly subdued him and took him into custody.

The Bihar AAP unit has denied any involvement, with former state vice-president Angesh Singh claiming that Saifi was not attacking Singh but was instead mistreated and falsely accused. "Saifi had approached Singh with local issues. The BJP's security personnel and workers assaulted him and fabricated charges," Angesh Singh said.

The Aam Aadmi Party stands with Saifi, he is being framed, she added.

Giriraj Singh Slams Oppn Leaders Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav

Following the attack, Giriraj Singh addressed the media, suggesting that political figures like Tejashwi Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav would support Saifi. He said, "Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Akhilesh Yadav are traders of votes and always come to the rescue of such individuals." Singh also criticised the Waqf Board, alleging that it was misappropriating Hindu land through notices in both Fatuha and Begusarai.

He further remarked, "What Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said — ‘Bantoge toh katoge’ — is absolutely true. Hindus must unite to protect their safety and Sanatan Dharma; otherwise, figures like Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Rahul Gandhi will turn India into an Islamic country."

The Begusarai police issued a press release stating that the incident occurred as Giriraj Singh was leaving the Janata Darbar. Saifi attempted to forcibly meet the minister and shouted "Murdaabad" with the intention of insulting Singh. During the commotion, Saifi was promptly detained by the police and armed forces.

The investigation is ongoing, with the authorities continuing to assess the situation and Saifi's alleged motives.
