The deadline to update the Aadhaar card without any charges is approaching. Any changes made to the document beyond the deadline such as an address, identity, or contact number will attract a charge. Therefore, if you need to make any revisions to your Aadhaar card, now is the time to do the same.
Deadline
The official deadline for making free revisions to the Aadhaar card is June 14, 2024. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) earlier extended the last date for making the updates from March 14, 2024.

Updates Made After Deadline
If any changes are requested once the deadline expires, users will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 to upload their documents or submit them physically at the centres.
The Aadhaar represents a unique identity number made up of 12 digits and is issued to Indians based on their biometric and demographic details. The document aims to prevent duplicacy amongst residents by assigning them a unique number and also detect fake and ghost identities.

The documents needed to make these changes are identity and address proofs. For identity proof, individuals can submit their ration card, voter identity card, PAN card, driving license, school marksheet from senior or secondary schools including photographs, government-issed identity cards/certificates, etc.
For address proof, in addition to ration, voting cards, individuals can also submit their electricity or water or other such utility bills for the last 3 months, bank/post office passbook, and rent/lease agreements.
The UIDAI has recommended all Aadhaar card holders to ensure that their latest identity and address information is updated in their Aadhaar cards to ensure ease of living and services.
