Rahul Gandhi Asset Portfolio: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has disclosed his financial holdings, revealing stock market investments worth Rs 4.3 crore and mutual fund deposits totalling Rs 3.81 crore. According to an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Rahul Gandhi's assets amount to Rs 20.4 crore, encompassing movable assets worth Rs 9.24 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 11.5 crore. The submission of affidavits containing personal financial details is a standard procedure accompanying the nomination papers of candidates.

Equity Investments

In a bid for re-election from the Wayanad seat in Kerala, the 53-year-old Congress MP holds shares in 25 listed firms, ranging from established blue-chip stocks to emerging small-cap ventures. As of March 15, 2024, the total value of Gandhi's stock holdings exceeded Rs 4.33 crore. His largest stockholding is in Suprajit Engineering, a Smallcap firm, with 4,068 shares valued at over Rs 17 lakh as of April 4, marking an increase from Rs 16.65 lakh as of March 15. Notably, the stock has seen growth of over 20 per cent in the past year.

As per the affidavit, among his other significant stock holdings are ITC and ICICI Bank. He possesses 3,093 shares in ITC valued at Rs 12.96 lakh and 2,299 shares in ICICI Bank worth Rs 24.83 lakh, both as of March 15.

Mutual Funds

Gandhi also has investments totalling Rs 3.81 crore in seven mutual funds, including Small and Midcap schemes. His largest investment is in HDFC Small Cap regular (growth) with a market value of Rs 1.23 crore, followed by ICICI Prudential Regular Savings Fund valued at Rs 1.02 crore. The NAV of HDFC Small Cap regular (growth) scheme has surged by 51.85 per cent in the past year.

Sovereign Gold Bonds

Additionally, he owns sovereign gold bonds valued at Rs 15.21 lakh as of March 15, 2024.

Public Provident Fund

His Public Provident Fund holds a balance of Rs 61.52 lakh, while his immovable assets are valued at Rs 11.15 crore. He also declared Rs 55,000 in cash on hand and a combined balance of Rs 26.25 lakh across his two bank accounts.

With these declarations, Rahul Gandhi provides transparency regarding his financial assets as he seeks the trust and support of voters in the upcoming elections. Voting for 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, including Wayanad, is scheduled for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 26.
