Everyone is concerned about their retirement nowadays. People start thinking about retirement plans from the beginning of their jobs so that they don't have to depend on anyone in old age. Keeping this in mind, the Government is providing pension facilities under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Pension Yojana. The scheme provides a pension of Rs. 36,000 annually after the age of 60 years on an investment of less than Rs. 2 per day.
Who Are Eligible For This Plan
A person between the age of 18 and 40 can join this scheme. The monthly income of the person should be less than Rs 15,000 and should not be covered under EPFO, NPS. The applicant should have a savings bank account. The scheme requires Aadhaar card, bank passbook documents.
Premiums Differ
In this scheme, the premium has to be paid according to age. If someone joins the scheme at the age of 18, he will have to deposit Rs 55 per month. This means the subscriber has to pay less than Rs 2 per day for the investment.
Similarly, for those aged 25, this amount is Rs. 80. While those aged 40 years will have to contribute Rs 200. This amount has to be deposited by the time the person turns 60 years.
