Bank Holiday For March 15, 2025: Check Here If Banks Are Open Or Closed In Your City Today

The RBI releases a detailed list of bank holidays, outlining the days when banking institutions will remain closed, based on national and regional festivals, weekends, and other notable events.

Bank Holiday Today: With the festival of Holi finished merely hours ago, customers might be wondering if they can complete their bank errands on Saturday. While some Saturdays are observed as holidays by banks, March 15 is the third Saturday of the month. As such, it will be a normal working day for banks across the country.

However, in some regions, banks will remain closed for the public due to state-based celebrations. As such, in the celebration of Holi and Yaosang 2nd Day, banks in Odisha, Bihar, Tripura, and Manipur will be closed on March 15 and customers in these regions are advised to avoid visiting the banks to avoid any inconvenience.

To take a look at the remaining holiday list for banks in March, you can check the calendar shared below.

RBI Publishes Bank Holiday Calendar

Every year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases a comprehensive list of bank holidays, outlining the days when banking institutions will remain closed. This schedule is determined by the banking authority, considering national and regional festivals, weekends, and other notable events.

As per standard practice, banks across the country do not operate on Sundays and observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. While physical bank branches remain shut on these designated holidays, customers can continue to access essential banking services through ATMs, mobile banking, and digital platforms without any disruption.

The RBI's annual holiday calendar serves as a guideline for all banks nationwide, ensuring uniformity in holiday observance across different states and regions.
