K Krithivasan To Take Over As TCS CEO From Rajesh Gopinathan On June 1
Krithivasan, who joined TCS in 1989, has been a part of the firm for more than 34 years and held numerous leadership positions.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday announced that K Krithivasan would take over as the new CEO and MD from June 1, 2023. Krithivasan, who is the president and global head of the banking, financial services, and insurance business group at TCS, will replace Rajesh Gopinathan.
"The Board of Directors of the Company have, at its meeting held today, appointed Mr. K. Krithivasan as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Company to take over from Rajesh Gopinathan with effect from June 1, 2023," TCS said in a statement.
Krithivasan was elevated to the role of CEO and MD last month after Rajesh Gopinathan decided to step down from the company.
Krithivasan, who joined TCS in 1989, has been a part of the firm for more than 34 years. He has held numerous leadership positions over his lengthy career at TCS in the areas of delivery, customer relationship management, big program management, and sales.

TCS on Wednesday announced that it clocked a 14.8 per cent rise in net income to Rs 11,392 crore for the fourth quarter of last fiscal against Rs 9,959 crore in the year-ago period. The country's largest technology services firm by market value said its revenue rose 16.9 per cent to Rs 59,162 crore during the reporting season from Rs 50,591 crore a year ago.
Commenting on the results, the outgoing CEO Gopinathan said: "It is very satisfying to look back at our strong growth in FY 2023, on top of the mid-teen growth in the prior year. The strength of our order book demonstrates the resilience of demand for our services and gives us visibility for growth in the medium term."
"Krithi and I are working closely to ensure that the leadership transition over the next few months is smooth and seamless to all our stakeholders and that TCS is well positioned to capture the opportunities ahead," he said.
