Jaguar Land Rover CEO Thierry Bolloré Resigns, Adrian Mardell To Take Over As Interim CEO

Jaguar Land Rover’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thierry Bollore has resigned citing personal reasons, Tata Motors said on Wednesday in an exchange filing. He will be leaving the company on December 31, 2022. Jaguar Land Rover is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Motors.
 
According to the exchange filing, Adrian Mardell will take over as interim CEO from Wednesday. He has been part of Jaguar Land Rover for 32 years and is currently a member of its executive board.

In a statement, Tata Motors, said, “We wish to inform you that Thierry Bolloré, non-executive non-independent director of Tata Motors Limited (the Company) has tendered his resignation w.e.f. December 31, 2022.”

"I want to thank Thierry for everything he has done at Jaguar Land Rover. The foundations for a successful transformation have been laid, leaving the company well poised for the future," N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover, said.

"I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together at Jaguar Land Rover over the last two years. The company's transformation and acceleration towards a sustainable, profitable future as a modern luxury business is underway at great pace. I would like to thank the whole team for their dedication and passion and I wish the entire organisation the very best for the future,” Bolloré said.

Thierry Bollore was appointed by Tata Motors for the top job after a search that spanned for nearly six months. He came from Renault Group where he was the CEO till October 2019. He joined JLR on September 10, 2020. Bollore took over from Ralf Speth who was at the helm for a decade. Tata Group flagship chose the Frenchman over a few internal candidates who were also in the fray for the job.
