Customer Finds Maggot In Chicken Biryani Ordered From Swiggy, Gets Irritated At Refund Of Rs 64

Food delivery platform, Swiggy, found itself in controversy again as a customer in Hyderabad complained about the quality of the food delivered. The customer placed an order for chicken biryani via the app and complained that he found bugs in his food.
The customer, Sai Teja, shared pictures of his delivered order and showed food with what appeared to be a maggot. Teja said that he paid Rs 318 for the chicken biryani and received the contaminated food in return.
Teja said that he raised the issue with customer care from Swiggy and received a refund of just Rs 64 in response. The incident occurred on Saturday and Teja said that the order was placed from a popular eatery in Hyderabad.

Sharing the details via a post on social media platform X, Teja wrote, “Please stop ordering from Mehfil Kukatpally.” He also shared in detail the response from a customer care executive who replied that the food packaging remained solely the responsibility of the restaurants.
The customer care replied, “However, since you are a valued customer of ours, we'd like to compensate you for your unsatisfactory experience. As a token of apology, we can offer you a refund of Rs 64 for the affected items.”
Responding to the viral post, Teja also shared that another customer care executive contacted him and offered him a complete refund. The executive also urged him to submit a complaint with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Another customer added to the post and said that he ordered paneer biryani from the app and received a bone in his order.
