Cryptocurrency Price Today: Bitcoin Regains $24,000 After Brief Dip, Ethereum Continues Bull Run Following Tesnet Merge
Cryptocurrency price on August 12 quick take: The Goerli Testnet Merge resulted in a 14 percent gain for Ethereum.
Ethereum (ETH) saw a massive 14 percent gain as the network’s third and final testnet — Goerli — switched over to a proof-of-stake consensus algorithm ahead of its much-awaited Merge. Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s oldest and most valued crypto, dipped below the $24,000 mark for a brief spell, before reclaiming the price point on early Friday morning. Alongside, most other popular altcoins, including the likes of Dogecoin (DOGE), Solana (SOL), and Ripple (XRP), founded themselves in the red across the board. Among lesser-known cryptocurrencies, the Ankr (ANKR) token emerged to be the biggest gainer in the last 24 hours, with a boost of over 40 percent.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap stood at $1.15 trillion as per CoinMarketCap data, registering a 24-hour dip of 1.30 percent.

BTC was priced at $24,002.80 at the time of writing. As per CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin saw a 24-hour dip of 2.42 percent. As per Indian exchange WazirX, BTC price stood at Rs 18 lakhs.
Ethereum (ETH) price today
ETH price stood at $1,893.40, marking a 24-hour dip of 0.31 percent. As per WazirX, Ethereum price in India stood at Rs 1.42 lakhs.
Dogecoin (DOGE) price today
DOGE registered a 24-hour dip of 1.55 percent as per CoinMarketCap data, currently priced at $0.07113. As per WazirX, Dogecoin price in India stood at Rs 5.21.
Litecoin (LTC) price today
