ABP-CVoter Pre-Budget Poll: How Has Modi Govt Fared With Inflation Rise? See Survey Result

ABP News along with CVoter conducted a survey to present the key findings of a nationwide poll ahead of the Union Budget 2022-23. 

New Delhi: As the countdown to the Union Budget 2022 begins, all eyes are now on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who will present her fourth budget on February 1, 2022.

Last year, the budget was presented in a paperless format for the first time by FM Sitharaman, who reached Parliament with a tablet instead of the traditional 'Bahi-Khata'. This year too, FM Sitharaman will present a paperless budget.

The budget session of Parliament began on January 31 with President Ram Nath Kovind's address. The first phase of the budget session will run from January 31 to February 11 and then the second phase will run from March 14 to April 8.

On Day 1 of the Budget session of Parliament, the government tabled the Economic Survey 2021-22 and the Statistical Appendix in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

The country's GDP is expected to increase by 8 to 8.5% during the next fiscal year 2022-23, starting from April 1. Whereas a growth rate of 9.2% for the current financial year 2021-22 has been estimated in the Economic Survey.

Keeping in view of the overall development, ABP News along with CVoter conducted a survey to present the key findings of people's opinion on inflation ahead of Union Budget 2021-22. 

Here are key findings of ABP News along with CVoter nationwide poll ahead of the Union Budget 2022-23. 

Q: After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister how is inflation in general? 

As per the ABP-CVoter survey, 27.5 percent of people believe inflation has been checked under the Modi government and prices have gone down, while 62.4 percent of people feel inflation has been unchecked by the Central government and prices have gone up, and 10.1 percent people said inflation remains the same, nothing has changed and prices remain the same.

Q2 In the last one year; did the state of inflation have an adverse effect/bad impact on your quality of life?

When asked about the bad impact or adverse effect on the quality of life in last one year, 49.3 percent of people believe inflation had too many adverse effects on the quality of their lives in last one year, 42.3 percent of people feel inflation had a little bit of an effect on the quality of their lives and 8.3 percent of people said their quality of life wasn't affected at all by inflation.

Q3 How has the Central Government delivered on the economic front so far?

25.6 percent of people said that the Central government has delivered much better than expected and 36.4 percent of people feel the Central government has delivered just as expected. 38.0 percent of people said the Central government has delivered worse than expected.
