'One Earth, One Family, One Future': India's Mantra To Solve Global Challenges, Says V-P Dhankar
Budget Session 2023: Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the joint sitting of Parliament. During his address he said, this year India has assumed the pigeon presidency of an influential global group like G-20.
New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday addressed the joint sitting of the Parliament. During his address he said, this year India has assumed the pigeon presidency of an influential global group like G-20. With the mantra of “One Earth, One Family, One Future”, India is attempting to find collective solutions to the current global challenges.
He further said, few months back our country completed 75 years of Independence and entered the Amrit Kaal. This Amrit Kaal of 25 years is the period of golden centenary of Indepnedence and making of a developed India. Hailing the central government Dhankar said that in nine years of government's term , people witnessed many positive changes.
"In almost nine years of my government’s term, the people of India witnessed many positive changes for the first time. My government is actively engaged in performing the duty of nation building," Dhankar said. He also said, today India has a government working at unprecedented speed and scale.
"Today India has a government working at unprecedented speed and scale. Today I express my gratitude through this session to the people of this country for electing a stable government for two consecutive terms. Over the years the country has developed a transparent and stable regime in the form of DBT and digital India. Today the monetary benefits of more than 300 schemes are directly reaching the bank accounts of the beneficiaries,", he said.

Dhankar also talked about various government schemes and the benefits extended to the poor people through them. "So far an amount of more than 27 lakh crores has reached crores of beneficiaries with complete transparency. To provide har ghar jal, my government has started Jal Jeevan mission", Dhankar said.
In the last few years the government has provided pakka houses to more than three and a half crore poor families. The government has spent about 3.5 lakh crore for free food grains to the poor under PM gareeb kalyan anna yojna.
During his speech, Dhankar also heaped praises for Indian U-19 Women's cricket team for winning the inaugural ICC U-19 world cup. "On behalf of this august House & on my own, sharing the sentiments of the nation, congratulations to Indian U-19 Women's Cricket Team for bringing laurels to the country by winning the inaugural ICC #U19T20WorldCupWorld (women's) tournament," Jagdeep Dhankhar said.
"The monumental achievement of our young women sportspersons is a matter of great pride for the entire nation. Their accomplishment is testimony to their unwavering focus, tremendous hard work and whole-hearted dedication," he addded. He further said, their spectacular performance will surely set the tone for an upward trajectory in sports. President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday made her first address to the joint sitting of the Parliament. She said that by 2047, we have to build a nation that is self-reliant and capable to fulfill its humanitarian duties.
"By 2047, we have to build a nation that will be connected to the pride of the past and which will have all the golden chapters of modernity. We have to build an India that will be 'aatmanirbhar' and capable to fulfill its humanitarian duties," she said.
