BMW India To Raise Prices By Up To 3% From January 2025

This move follows a similar announcement by Mercedes-Benz last week, which revealed that it would raise the prices of its vehicles in India by up to 3 per cent across its entire portfolio

Luxury carmaker BMW India announced on Friday that it will raise the prices of its entire model range by up to 3 per cent starting January 1, 2025. This price hike will affect all of the company’s locally produced vehicles, including popular models such as the 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series Long Wheelbase, 5 Series Long Wheelbase, 7 Series Long Wheelbase, X1, X3, X5, X7, and the M340i.

In addition to its locally manufactured cars, BMW India also sells a range of Completely Built-Up Units (CBUs), including models like the i4, i5, i7, i7 M70, iX1, BMW iX, Z4 M40i, and the M2 Coupe, which will also be subject to the price increase.

This move follows a similar announcement by Mercedes-Benz last week, which revealed that it would raise the prices of its vehicles in India by up to 3 per cent across its entire portfolio, effective January 1, 2025. Mercedes-Benz cited a rise in input costs, inflationary pressures, and increased operational expenses as the reasons behind the price adjustments. The price hikes for Mercedes-Benz vehicles will range from Rs 2 lakh for the GLC to Rs 9 lakh for the top-end Mercedes-Maybach S 680 luxury limousine.

Announcing the same, Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Santosh Iyer said, "Over the past three quarters, we have been facing increased pressure on our cost structure primarily driven by escalating material cost, fluctuating commodity pricing, increased logistics expenses and inflationary cost."

He added, "While we have been absorbing these cost pressures by optimising our operational costs and driving higher efficiencies, the overall bottom line is getting impacted, considering the current challenges. To ensure the sustainability of our business, we have decided for a nominal price correction. "Flexible financing options from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will ensure optimal total cost of ownership for our customers.”
