Understanding Bank Closures and Upcoming Holidays

In India, banks operate on the first and third Saturdays of each month and remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays and every Sunday. Additionally, banks observe closures on various national, regional, and religious holidays, which differ from one state to another. Customers are encouraged to confirm with their local bank branches before planning in-person visits, especially around public holidays.

In June 2025, beyond the regular weekend breaks, banks will also close for the following occasions:

June 11 (Wednesday): Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti / Saga Dawa – Holiday in Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh
June 27 (Friday): Ratha Yatra / Kang (Rathajatra) – Observed in Odisha and Manipur
June 30 (Monday): Remna Ni – Holiday in Mizoram

These regional observances add up to four weekday holidays in June, excluding regular weekends. As always, digital banking services remain accessible to customers during these offline periods.
