Accenture Rolls Out Salary Hikes After Over 2-Year Pause; Promotions For 50,000 Employees Globally

The salary revisions follow Accenture’s Q2 FY25 earnings report on March 20, where it raised the lower end of its annual revenue forecast, citing increased demand for AI integration

Global IT services giant Accenture has announced salary hikes ranging from 3 per cent to 13 per cent for employees at Level 8 (Associate Manager) and above, its first such increment in over two and a half years. The move comes amid what the company describes as an “elevated level of uncertainty in the global economic and geopolitical environment,” signaling cautious optimism despite lingering market volatility, according to a Moneycontrol report.

While double-digit hikes are included in the new pay structure, employee sentiment remains muted, as the raises follow a prolonged freeze. These salary adjustments are part of Accenture’s June performance cycle, which also includes promotions for nearly 50,000 employees worldwide, around 15,000 of whom are based in India, according to an internal communication from Ajay Vij, Senior Country Managing Director, India, added the report.

Vij stated that more than 43,000 employees in India are expected to be promoted in FY25. “This cycle, we will have stay-at-level (base pay) increases, including many of those not covered in the December cycle and others in key growth areas,” he wrote, adding that the majority of Accenture’s workforce in India will receive base pay hikes through either promotions or adjustments by the end of FY25, claims the report.

Annual Revenue

The salary revisions follow Accenture’s Q2 FY25 earnings report on March 20, where it raised the lower end of its annual revenue forecast, citing increased demand for AI integration across client operations. Despite broad-based growth in FY24, the company has faced pressure on operating margins compared to the same period last year.

Accenture, which employs nearly 800,000 people globally, has stressed its focus on disciplined execution and supporting clients through digital reinvention, aiming for a stronger growth trajectory in FY25.

Promotion announcements are scheduled between May 26 and 29, with detailed communication on May 29. Bonus and variable pay will continue to follow the December cycle.

In contrast, Indian IT majors such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Wipro recently delayed their wage hikes.
